KINDERMUSIK VILLAGE

Is for Newborns through 1 1/2 years: Kindermusik Village is for lap babies, crawlers and walkers accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Kindermusik Village provides the natural learning your child is ready for from the first days of life. With you at the center of your baby’s discovery, village engages all of her senses and rewards her curiosity with object and instrument exploration, vocal play, singing, creative movement, and a colorful literature component. Multi-level activities encourage you to make creative choices as she grows from a lap baby to a crawler to a walker.

Includes Music and Literature: Specially commissioned art in beautiful books will aid your baby's visual tracking, shape and color recognition and language development. They'll bring your Kindermusik Village experience home and will become a favorite addition to your child's bookshelf for years to come. You'll also love the beautifully recorded music on CDs, and all the other quality materials that go home to extend your baby's discovery and create lasting memories.

KINDERMUSIK OUR TIME

Is a music and movement program for children ages 18 months to 3 ½ years with a parent or caregiver.

Your child's developing ability to feel, cope with and express all her emotions is so very important at this age. You'll see how the activities we do in Our Time address the emotional characteristics and tendencies of this stage that we sometimes call the "rubber band" stage. We'll honor your child's desire for freedom and the chance to explore and experiment while we also make sure she feels safe and supported. The activities will encourage her to be creative, to initiate her own ideas and to respond in her own ways, while your active participation will give her the security she needs!

Kindermusik Our time focuses on your child’s healthy emotional development as her confidence, curiosity, self-control and communication begin to take shape. Instrument exploration nurtures her self-esteem and facilitates her discovery of textures and sounds. The anticipation and rewards of listening are introduced while turn-taking activities develop social skills. Singing, rhythm and object identification, creative dancing, instrument play, and story time are among the joyful activities that make up an Our Time class. Classes are 45 minutes each.

Our Time At Home materials will extend the fun and discovery of the classroom into your home: 

Two CDs filled with beautiful music featuring folk songs from around the world in many different languages, calypso tunes, classical works, and sounds from the natural world that invite your child to listen, respond and create! 

Also included are two Music and Movement Books created exclusively for the Kindermusik Library, a Home Activity Book which features songs from class, creative activities for play at home, and Kindermusik Foundations of Learning insights and an instrument exclusively created for Kindermusik Our Time to extend your and your child's enjoyment of Kindermusik at home.

Is the third in the four-stage Kindermusik curriculum that complements and enhances your child’s own stages of learning. Imagine That! is for children ages 3  to 5 years with the parent/caregiver and siblings actively participating in the last ten minutes of class.

No two Imagine That! classes are ever the same – class activities grow and change based on children’s active participation. Suddenly, your child never seemed so musical – she has a song on her lips all the day, and every movement has rhythm and drama. When the radio plays, she listens for trumpets and recognizes the violin. Isn’t it time for choir or piano lesions?

KINDERMUSIK FOR THE YOUNG CHILD is for the 4½ to 7 year old child. It is the capstone to the Kindermusik curricula, preparing young musicians for a successful future of formal music training.

Young child provides a pressure-free, developmentally appropriate transition where she can musically succeed before taking on a more formal instruction. In small movement-oriented classes, your child develops her greatest instrument – her voice – while she learns the symbols and vocabulary of music making. She develops instrument-playing skills with the introduction of the glockenspiel, recorder and dulcimer, as listening activities strengthen her ability to discern a variety of instruments and musical concepts. Through creative learning activities, she begins to read music and to create musical compositions – tangible accomplishments that instill positive emotions about her own musicality.

Explore the world through creative movement. Movement is essential in all learning. The integration of a variety of movement activities is designed to complement musical learning and is based on a variety of approaches such as Laban, Dalcroze, Wiekart, and Gilbert. Children also learn about the rudiments of ballet, jazz and tap dancing as well as explore Mozart and other classical musicians.

Kindermusik for the Young child At Home materials include a folder full of activities, an illustrated family songbook, a game bag, professionally recorded music on CD, a musical instrument and a carry bag.

When it is, your child has the time of her life and she continues to grow, discover and learn!  Kindermusik Adventures turns an ordinary summer into an extraordinary journey with theme-based camps where your child discovers the joy of music, movement, dance, drama, story telling, and craft making.

Kindermusik Adventures At Home materials extend your child’s learning and creativity beyond the camp experience. Musical recordings on CD, colorful activity folders, and a complete set of arts and crafts materials allow you and your child to share the discovery and excitement of Kindermusik Adventures year-round!

In Kindermusik Adventures your child will:

And use his imagination and express himself through drama, storytelling music and movement. 

By Singing native songs of Japan or echoing African chants, your child develops essential language skills. By scampering like a squirrel and hopping like a rabbit, your child learns to move expressively. By decorating a royal crown or painting an under-the-sea mural, your child is encouraged to express his or her own individuality. By imitating the sounds of birds chirping and dolphins squealing, your child learns to listen and absorb information in new and different ways.

For the newborn to 1 ½ year old with Parent/caregiver:

Summer Baby Music Sampler: A music and movement class that creates a delightful experience of learning and bonding for you and your baby. In this class, we explore multi-level activities such as creative movement and dancing, object and instrument exploration, vocal play, listening, singing and chanting. Learn new songs, lullabies, and ways to say "I love you" using touch, "classic" nursery rhymes and special parent-baby dances that stimulate baby's eyes, body and mind. Connect with other families in your community and learn how music greatly improves your child's development process. Take-home materials include: CD and a summer surprise! Five 45-minute classes. 

For the 1½ to 3 year old child with parent/caregiver:

Adventures: Creatures at the Ocean- Get ready for a seaside adventure with creatures from the sea and ocean play. In Creatures at the Ocean, your child is introduced to a number of whimsical waterfront friends, including the seagull, crab, dolphin, octopus, and whale. Beach fun is the focus with beach ball play, pretend-kite play, sand play, and sheet-simulated waves! Throughout each lesson, your child explores ocean movements, sings and dances to delightful music including a lovely Calypso tune, and makes music with unique instruments such as seashell shakers, castanets, and much more.

Take-home materials include: One CD/One pair of seashell castanets/ Story cards/ five full color picture folders-includes musical notation to ocean songs, suggestions for extended activities, and a list of children’s books for reading at home. Five 45-minute classes.

Adventures: Zoo Train - Fast enough to keep pace with a toddler's busy feet and emerging sense of steady beat, Zoo Train promises a fun-filled time of music, dancing, stories and crafts to stimulate your toddler's developing imagination, coordination, and ability to learn more words. Tag along this summer with a traveling zoo-train; bring your own stuffed animal for the petting zoo; wear long white socks on your hands for polar bear paws; and learn about real animals in the zoo. Sing songs in new languages as we discover animals like Polar bears, monkeys, seals, and parrots.

Take-home materials include: A colorful poster, a special book written just for this summer camp, a CD, and an animal-shaped instrument. Five 45-minute classes.

For the 3 to 5 year old child: 

Adventures: Confetti Days - Confetti Days was inspired by children, songs, play and celebrations! In this creative journey your child will be introduced to a world of imagination, movement, art, language, drama, play and storytelling, instruments, as well as singing and dancing to produce a tapestry of multi-sensory experiences for you and your family. Confetti Days includes many traditional children’s songs that have been passed down from many generations as play party songs. These timeless selections include Pop! Goes the Weasel, Looby Loo and Des Colores. All songs and activities in Confetti Days have been selected to represent ways that children all around the world celebrate the joy of simply being children!

Class materials include: One CD/ Snacks/ Confetti Bells/ Story Time Pack/Full-Color Picture Folders- includes musical notation to songs, suggestions for extended activities, and a list of children’s books for reading at home. Confetti Days is five 1½-hour classes with parent/caregiver participating in the last 30 minutes for a “special ” art project.

Adventures: On the Road - This camp makes the most of a preschooler's burgeoning imagination and ability to learn more words and solve problems. Through music-making, drama, art, creative movement, and story telling, your child will enjoy imaginary trips to special summer vacation locations such as the carnival, a summer cottage, and the beach. Parents will love remembering and singing favorite childhood camp songs along with their child.
 

Class materials include: a CD, snacks, a special literature book featuring "Van Go," the road-tripping van preschooler's will ride over the summer and a musical instrument. Five 1-1/2 hour classes with parent/caregiver participation in the last 30 minutes for a "special" art project.

For the 4 to 7 year old child:

Adventures: Around the World - Your older child will delight in taking an imaginary trip Around the World with Kindermusik, exploring the exciting cultures of Germany, Japan, Africa, England and Mexico.  Around the World activities incorporate music, movement, dance, drama and instruments native to each country such as the German polka dance and a Japanese den den drum.  Your child will also experiment with arts and crafts activities such as making an African decorative mask and Mexican piñatas.  There is plenty of room for creativity as your child learns about each rich culture.  And your child can mark his journeys with stickers to post on his/her very own "travel" bag.

Class materials include: One CD/ Snacks/ Arts and Crafts Materials/ Travel Tote Bag and stickers to decorate/ Five Full-Color picture folders-includes musical notation to songs, suggestions for extended activities and a list of children’s books for reading at home. Adventures Around the World is five 2-hour classes with parent/caregiver participating in the last 15 minutes of class.
